Dos and Don'ts

Post only food-related photos

We're sure your kitten is reeeeally cute - but this isn't the place to post his photo. There are plenty of
perfectly fine sites that host miscellaneous photographs. Please limit posts on this site to food, meal
ingredients, meal situations, restaurants (and their surrounding environment), places where you can
buy food, food shows and things that will eventually become food (your prize tomato patch, for
example). Accounts that consist primarily of non-food related photos may be terminated at any time.

Dish up as much info as you can

What makes BeenThereAteThat really different from general photo sites is your ability to share and
search for detailed information about food and restaurants. So please, provide information like a
restaurant's address, phone number and other details - even if it's optional. Write about the
experience, the people and the surroundings. Tell us a story, give us the recipe (if you came up with it
yourself) or provide the link to a recipe (if somebody else came up with it). The more you share, the
better this site will be!

Upload only photos that you've taken

Don't post other peoples' photos and pass them off as your own. Don't grab shots from the internet and
post them. Don't copy photos from this site and use them for any other purposes. In other words, don't
eat off of other people's plates! It's not just impolite - it's against the law. See our Copyright/IP Policy
for more information.

Have good table manners

Be polite and show respect to other members. Flambé-ing may be OK for food, but flaming isn't nice
for people! If you disagree, do it kindly. Don't leave a bad taste! Harassment, abuse, hate speech, slurs,
malicious use of stereotypes, predatory behavior, impersonation and/or intimidation are not permitted
on this site. If we receive a valid complaint about your conduct, it will result in a warning or termination
of your account.

Don't make us queasy

Don't post any photos that are deliberately creepy, gross or disgusting. There is some pretty unusual
food out there, so if you ate eyeballs on your travels in a country where that's a generally accepted
dish, well OK, post the photo. But don't go fabricating freaky things or post something intentionally
offensive.

Don't post content that is sexually explicit, illegal or prohibited

Yes, food can be sexy. But pornography or sexually explicit content is not allowed on this site. And, if
find you doing anything illegal, your account will be deleted and we'll take appropriate action, which
may include reporting you to the authorities.

Don't use BeenThereAteThat for commercial purposes

BeenThereAteThat is for personal use only. If a member is found to be selling products or services on
this site, we will terminate his or her account. If you're interested in advertising on BeenThereAteThat,
drop us a line at: advertise@BeenThereAteThat.com
